At the Qatar Foundation’s 2019 World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), EOF CEO Amel Karboul spoke on a panel highlighting innovative funding mechanisms in education, focusing on trends in results-based financing. Bringing together international leaders in the education sector, the annual WISE event is centered on education advocacy and creating a forum for high-level collaboration.
Underlining EOF’s mission to help address the global learning crisis, Karboul discussed how the organization is working closely with governments and other stakeholders to shift the focus of education programs from inputs to outcomes.
During the panel, Karboul said:
By having those conversations with governments about outcomes, by supporting governments to think more about how they assess learning, by paying more for girls, by paying more for children with disabilities…we encourage governments to look more at results, to spend more on education.
