Updated: Sep 30

Education Outcomes Fund (EOF) Chair Sir Ronald Cohen and CEO Amel Karboul spoke during the recent GSG Impact Summit in New Dehli, India. Sir Ronald is also the Chairman of the Global Steering Group for Impact Investment (GSG), which convened the summit.

Karboul spoke on the Expert Roundtable “Priority Initiative: Education in India, Africa & the Middle East” together with Shannon May, Co-founder of Bridge International Academies, and Ashish Dhawan, Founder and Chairman of Central Square Foundation (CSF). The roundtable was moderated by Emily Gustafsson-Wright, a fellow in the Center for Universal Education at the Brookings Institution.

The panelists discussed the momentum for impact investment to catalyze greater flows of capital and improve access, affordability, and quality of education. They also discussed the increase in longer-term commitments by individual investors, development finance institutions (DFIs), foundations, governments, and institutional investors.

During his opening speech, Sir Ronald called for an impact revolution, noting: "Nothing less than a revolution will enable us to achieve solutions at a scale that can improve billions of lives and our planet, and each and every one of us has a role to play in this revolution."
