Education Outcomes Fund (EOF) CEO Amel Karboul spoke at the recent launch of the “Investing in Knowledge Sharing to Advance SDG 4” report, coauthored by the Center for Global Education at Asia Society, Results for Development, Teach For All, The Boston Consulting Group, and the World Innovation Summit for Education. The event was held at the Asia Society on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
The report builds on the recommendations of the International Commission on Financing Global Education Opportunity (the Education Commission) in its 2016 Learning Generation report. Based on 16 months of research, interviews, and consultations with more than 200 education leaders, the report outlines the path forward for effective knowledge sharing in education and makes recommendations for increasing investment in global education systems.
Speaking at the event, Karboul made a strong call for collaboration and innovation, saying: "in the education ecosystem we sometimes overuse our diversity to become territorial...We should embrace imperfect projects even if they don’t match our agenda 100%, with the bigger goal in mind of children learning."
